2018 Presidium meeting in Częstochowa

Częstochowa (Poland) hosted the Presidium of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize that took place on December 8, 2018.

The Presidium members present at the meeting were the cities of Altötting (Germany), Darmstadt (Germany), Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine), Mülheim an der Ruhr (Germany), St. Pölten (Austria), Kharkiv (Ukraine), Czestochowa (Poland). There were representatives of other towns-members of the Association present at the meeting: Gdynia (Poland), Lublin (Poland) and Szeged (Hungary), which is a good sign indicating that more and more towns awarded the Europe Prize are showing interest in the work of the Association.

The agenda of the Presidium comprised the following items:
– Presentation dedicated to the XX anniversary of Częstochowa’s membership in the Association
– Presentation of the Association’s website operation
– Presentation of Oleksandra Chykhladze, Acting Head of the Resident Representative Office of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize in Ukraine
– Program of the General Assembly in Szeged (Hungary): specification of the GA topic
– Activation of engagement of the Associationmembers in its activity

During the meeting of the Presidium, the following decisions were made:
– To activate the involvement of the members in the activity of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize through a variety of joint events and exchange of good practices, particularly by using the Association’s website.
– To specify the topic of the 2019 General Assembly of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize to be held in Szeged (Hungary) as “Smart Cities: What Does it Mean for Us?”
– To specify the topic of the 2019 Youth Meeting within the General Assembly of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize to be held in Szeged (Hungary) as “Smart Cities: the Role of Youth in Building the Cities of the Future”.
