Presidium meeting of the Association of Towns Awarded the Europe Prize was held in Altötting (Germany) on November 7-9, 2017

 The following towns participated in the event:  Altötting (Germany), Kharkiv (Ukraine), Częstochowa (Poland), Mülheim-un-der Ruhr (Germany), Würzburg (Germany), Ankara (Turkey), Nancy (France), Lublin (Poland) and the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly.
Agenda of the meeting included the following issues:
1. Determining of the venue and the date of the Association’s General Assembly and the Youth Meeting in 2018.
The proposition to hold the General Assembly in Lublin (Poland) on June 2, 2018 was supported unanimously (by seven cities).
2. Determining of the theme of the Association’s General Assembly and the Youth Meeting in 2018
Three topics of General Assembly were suggested by Kharkiv. Among them the following topic was chosen: «Direct Democracy: Civil Initiatives and their Implementation Mechanisms (Participation Budget and Other Urban Initiatives)». The same topic was chosen for Youth Meeting also.
3. Discussing the inclusion of the e letter in the Association emblem approved at the General Assembly in Kharkiv in 2017.
The Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on the Europe Prize proposed to preliminarily clear up within the Secretariat of the Council of Europe, the expedience of adding the “e” letter, as this was proposed by the Secretariat in a non-official oral form, and to either confirm or revoke it leaving the Association emblem unchanged.
4. Presenting the new member of the Presidium – the city of Nancy (France)
The Vice-Mayor of Nancy, Jean-Michel Berlemont, who presented the City noted that the City of Nancy, which had been the Europe Prize holder since 1969, was actively collaborating with ten twin-cities and ready support the work of the Association Presidium and the Association in general in future
